And what about proper classifications I agree the walking between heats limits down-time. We'll discuss this at our Crown admin meeting tonight. And, talk to SCCA about classes - that's why I don't run the LX 'tour in G stock - it's not prepared to compete with 6-cyl Mustangs and Camaros...

Turbos are legal in STS if they came on the car that way and the engine is not over 2.0L You can't add them to a car that didn't have them and you can't change them on a car that came with them.
WRX's are not legal in STS, but the only guy in the STS class with a Subaru drives a 2.5 RS, non turbo. Legal. The fact that he's fast as **** has nothing to do with an illegal car. The WRX's that do show up ARE in the STX class. There are no WRX's listed in the points tallies for STS in either club, period, and the only Subaru's there are legal as far as I know. No turbos. There is one WRX that runs in the STR class, race tires, not eligible for STS or STX.
You may occasionally see them classed incorrectly at the event but the person who handles all the points is very good about catching and fixing the mistakes after the fact. Like I said, if you have an issue with a car's class, ask its driver about it. If there's any confusion, talk to the event chair or Paul Poore. If it doesn't get resolved, lodge a protest.

As for starting early, that's why we're opening registration at 8 am. As for starting on TIME, all I can suggest is you volunteer for event chair and see all the **** that can happen to keep you from starting an event on time, no matter how early you get there and start the set-up process.
For Sunday's event we're going to get all the 1st-heat drivers to grid as soon as they're registered and their cars are prepped, and tech them THERE while everyone else will get teched in the paddock area. That will cut down a big potential delay considerably. See, we actually do think about this **** and a lot of time is spent at meetings discussing improvements to the process and specifics of each event.
BTW you guys are welcome to come to any of the monthly meetings whether you're members or not. Crown's is 7:30 PM the 2nd Thursday of every month (that would be tonight) at Fitz's behind Union Station SCCA's are 8:00 PM the second Tuesday of every month at Hatty's on 47th street just east of Mission road.

We talked about event length at the meeting last night and the first thing we'll do to try to minimize it all is bump the heat size up to 25, and limit walking to before odd-numbered heats. We may try to get 3 cars on course at the same time but frankly the timekeepers and grid chief have to be really good to keep up, and of course we have to have courseworkers who don't have their heads up their asses like they have been lately. That is no small challenge. I'm going to be giving worker pep talks before every heat reminding people to watch the ****ing cars and cones and for the love of god be ready to use the red flag. In execution this is does indeed seem too much to ask.

If you're able to help out Sunday, above and beyond your 'required' work heat, please feel welcome. I won't be running registration this event b/c we'll be running around like chickens with our heads cut off.
