Demon (Greg) ran his best tonight even though he was runnign a bit lean and his clutch was a bit angry. I believe his best was a higher 14.7 at 95.Xmph. I'll let him elaborate on his runs, but he was getting consistent 14.8s. His SVT is a beast and is super clean. I wouldn't doubt that when the weather cools off and he gets his motor tuned, he'll easily surpass my 14.6@98mph.

Poor PhatSVT (Sam) possibly munched his differential tonight during a burnout on what would have been his first pass frown Sorry, Sam. I hope it's something like a half-shaft instead of the diff.

As for me and the Maxipad, I ran pretty weak tonight, but my trap speeds were back up to where they should be for this weather (damn near 95mph except one pass). I ran 4 14.9s and one 15.0 (decided to hold 3rd, didn't work out). I was acting like a virgin racer tonight. 1st run I banged the rev limiter in 1st and 2nd run I left the A/C on.....IDIOT!!!

I believe everyone else was in the lower to mid 15 range at around 90mph.

I had a good time meeting everyone. I don't think I'll be racing again until I get my JDM spec intake manifold.

I've been following this thread (well, the other one) wanting to see what Demon would run. Nice work. I gotta get my driving skills up; my new goal isn't a 14.x pass - it's now to run faster than Demon. I've got a few 94 MPH traps on record, but my shifting could use some work. A little dyno tuning and a lot of practice and I should be able to get there. Or at least enjoy trying.

Sucks about PhatSVT - I also wanted to see how fast you could make the SC run. If it is the diff, at least the Quaife you'll need will help you launch better.

Dave you didn't do too shabby with this weather like it is. As for Greg (DemonSVT) his car is easily going to break the 14.5 mark. He ran that 14.7 and 14.8 with a 2.4 sixty foot. YOu have got to see your front end Greg. The whole front of your car has to be a foot off the ground. It looks as if your RWD. As for me I tried out the sweet Nitto drag radials blew something up on the burn out. I dropped the clutch at 5 grand and I hear a few wheel hops then boom I had nothing but grinding. I said to myself "OH SH*T!" I got up to the line by rolling and let out the clutch and nothing was there. I looked cool though being pushed off the track. wink Man you have got to see those Nittos on my car with it slammed like it is. Talk about some serious meats. I am not sure if it is exactly the differential or not. The car drives fine in reverse but no forward gears. Right now the car is chillen at Bill Woods waiting to see what they have to say. Here are a few shots of my fun tonight.

This is Muscles hooking the car up to the wench. I almost swore this guy was going to rip out of his shirt with those canons.

Sorry about the quality of this pic but I didnt use flash on some of them but you can see how ugly it was. frown

I'm still bummed Sam... frown

I ran a best 14.75 @ 95.5mph with a 2.3x 60'
Spun in 1st & 2nd...

70's, ~80% humidity (got worse) & high barometer.

Nearly 2mph gain from last fall when I ran under much better conditions!
Last fall my runs had consistent 2.2x 60' times as well... Need those back!!! laugh

3 others at 14.83, 14.85, 14.90 @ 95mph with 2.4x 60' times.
Spun Badly in 1st & 2nd!

3 throw away runs.
Though one a decent 15.0 @ 94.6
2.6x 60' time

Against a Maxima even.

I started rolling back at the line (the outside lane - POS track!)
So I let the clutch out a little... ..too much

Rolled through the light
Paused for a moment and just punched it. laugh

Needless to say he left on me badly! (A common occurance of the evening :p )
Half track I had him.
Put 2 tenths and 2 mph on him by the end. (his 15.2 @ 92)

SVT Power!!! wink

I have come to the conclusion that the stock clutch does sucketh!

It slips badly on "hard" shifting from 1 - 2 & 2 - 3 frown

No slippage in 4th or 5th at low rpms on a hill like a normal bad clutch would show however???

Hehe, Trevor (guy with the red Maxima) walks by with a bummed look on his face. I ask what's up and he says "that SVT walked even though I got the lead".

Too bad we didn't get to run each other. It would have been fun and probably decently close. I agree, traction was crappy. My best 60' was a 2.32. We'll meet again when I get that intake manifold. BTW, they figured out the "plateau" problem with the manifold. They gained an extra 7fwhp after 5500rpms laugh

Sam-
Your attitude about your car is amazing. I asked what happened and you smiled and said, "yep, I think the diff is gone". You're all calm and collected. I would have been pissed and throwing bricks at my car. Ever seen "Office Space" when they start beating the crap out of the printer? That would have been me.

That would be cool Dave.

You guys have some nice cars!!!

Only a couple runs next time. With long cool down periods for my clutch...

Ya want to know why I can do that now? After the car being in the shop every other week you get use to it. Now it's just funny when it does it. It's like when Sammy gets his car back lets take bets on when it will be back in the shop. We should do that next time I get it back.

Dave~

Your car looks faster than a mid/high 14 second car when you take off. With that intake you are getting I wouldnt doubt you hit low 14s easy.

Sam you finally going to have Terry work some magic on that trans or just wait for ford to stick another trans in it? We can start calling you Tim Kirk Jr! LOL Sounds like a diff went to me. It could be a half shaft but I know when I broke my hub at Gingerman I had no forward or reverse becuase the quaife had nothing to bias against to transfer power to the other wheel.

I know what you mean about just shaking it off when the car breaks! At least yours can still be fixed by a dealer though!

Thanks. I have ton of respect for you guys because your cars are very European. There's absolutely nothing "rice" on your cars. You go to Maxima.org and you'll see the big wings, bling bling wheels, "Hyper white" this and that, 5+" exhaust tips, etc. There's a reason I hang out here.

BTW, get an ACT clutch, chirp 3rd, and call it a day laugh
