This'll be a quick one. What's the best service guide out there, as far as telling you how to fix/exchange parts?
Thanks.

I'm a high school student with little to no money. I have a 98 Contour SE w/ 2.5L 24v V6 w/ 100k miles. I'd like to make some cheap performance upgrades <$1000 or so. I only spent 4k on the car. Mainly, I HATE Honda Civics and I want to blow them away. I usually can anyways! Any suggestions please e-mail me. devonb_37@hotmail.com

If you have a computer, then get the Ford TSP (Technical Service Publication). You can get it for $8 from todras@yahoo.com (check the CEG classifieds at http://www.contour.org/classifieds/classifieds.php?t=1&c=1).

If you don't have a computer, then get the Haynes manual and/or the Chilton's manual. They are ~$15 each. They both have their strengths and weaknesses. I personnaly like the Chilton's a little better.

Also, if you have a computer and a 1996+ model, then I highly recommend that you get Alex Peper's OBD-II software (Vehicle Explorer). You can read about it at http://www.obd-2.com. There is a group buy (40% off) going on at the Taurus Car Club: http://www.tauruscarclub.com/obd2.html.
