Time to find DemonSVT laugh

Today I FINALLY redynoed my 96 Maxima and the gains were flat out impressive. My former best was ~175fwhp and ~192fwtq. My new best today......183fwhp and 193fwtq!!!!! The only two things different this time around was the addition of a Warpspeed non-mandrel bent Y-pipe and the UDP. I have gained power at all rpms with a substanial gains in fwhp and fwtq from 4800-6300. We're talking gains of 8fwhp and 9fwtq. The curve is literally elevated nearly 10fwhp and 10fwtq above my old curves after 5100rpms. This is most impressive. At one point, I made a gain of 12fwtq@5300rpms. The curves still show peak power at 5400 and peak torque around 4400. There's still no way around the long runners of the 4th gen VQ sucking out topend power. Don't be mislead by the 1-fwtq gain at peak because I gained torque all over the curves.

Conditions today were nearly what they were the during my prior best. Todays conditions were 28.80 in. Hg, 60.4 degrees, SAE 1.01. Last time out they were 29.24 in. Hg., 64 degrees, 1.00 SAE. Most importantly, all runs were on the same machine.

I'm hoping to run my new best at the track with this new power on opening day at KCIR. I'll be looking for you Contour guys laugh Merlin, I'll be looking for you too wink

Dave

I believe he is hiding out somewhere. Have not seen him in a while.

Nice numbers though... laugh

Torque is yummy and I can never have enough. I never realized this until now (because they gave me a better dyno plot axis), but my power curves resemble kind of a "cam switchover" at 3000rpms. My torque is at 170fwtq at 3000rpms and then 300rpms later it has shot up to 190fwtq. HP goes from 95fwhp to 125fwhp in that time frame too. You can feel the kick while driving, but I had no idea it's was so similiar in power production to the infamous "hitting VTEC" switchover. Of course when I'm coming off the line above 3000rpms, this surge in power is worthless.

Who's going to KCIR next Sunday for opening day? I'll be there, of course. It'd be nice if some of you could make it out too. I hate being the only sleeper 4-door out there.

Sam-

What's wrong with your Tour? I saw you out at Kicks on Friday and you did a nice little WOT run in front of the station and you're car looked like it was running good.

Your Mom's GT has got to have 500miles by now laugh Bring it out. Of course, you might have to let her drive first.

I was wondering if you saw me out at all that night. I tried to get your attention a few times and looked like an ass doing it as you drive by not seeing me jumpen up and down. Yeah that's when I had SleepySVT98 in the car. Did you go out to the race site? I arrived late and ended up behind two guys about to run em. I wait as they do a smokey burn out. I then wait for the honk and i launch with them just behind both. I shift into second and about take out the slow ass POS's. I guess that Del Sol was whoopen up on some cars and there I go about to make a pass but not enough room for my family sedan.

Time to take out the supercharger and send it off AGAIN! Hopefully this time will be the one. Wish Vortech could build quality blowers for us ompact cars. This gives me time to do some internal work. wink

Oh yeah and I want to ride in this infamous Maxima.

Yep, that was me. I played volleyball till 10pm and decided to go watch the "scene" since the wife was out of town. I went into Kicks to get some Gatorade, but you had just left. I went threw later and saw your car, but I didn't see you. My friend Chris (96 Z28, black, body kit, chrome SS wheels) rolled thru and so did another friend in his white 12-second GSX. I tried to come over, but everyone started to do the Fast & Furious split up. I figured everyone was either gonna go race or someone picked up the cops on the scanner. It always makes me nervous to park at Kicks because I think the cops are gonna block us in and write loitering tickets. What are the current rules at Kicks, loitering wise?

I didn't race. I don't even know where the race spot is anymore.

So that beat-up Del Sol (on slicks no less) was outrunning people? Was he outrunning real cars or just ricey cars laugh There definately were some nice rides out there, especially on the domestic side. I also heard a couple Si's go by and do the "psssssst...".

It was funny when I rolled threw Kicks the first time because I heard some young Asian cat say "yo dude, that's the SC Maxima I'm talking about. He needs a bigger wing and bigger wheels, though."
