Yes, GE Capital Corp of Canada is on my s%^t list. When I bought the car, the seller said it had an extended warranty. Nowhere on the warranty documents does it say that the car cannot be sold through a dealer as part of a trade deal (that's what we did: cheaper for him). Now GE Capital is trying to say that we nullified the warranty by doing so. I'm angered and my seller is quite perturbed as well. They seem to be trying to change the deal after it is made. Any advice as to how I can handle these bozos?

If the person who sold you the car included in the sales contract that it had an extended warranty, and that perhaps now in effect it does not, go after the seller.

If you're sold one thing which ends up being another, I'm sure you have legal rights.

Aftermarket warranties are notoriously unreliable, heck even Ford's ESP can be a pain to transfer and take advantage of sometimes.

Bottom line here is that if you paid a price for the car that to your knowledge included the x-warr, you should get some money back from the seller if the coverage can't be transferred to you.

My aftermarket warranty company has been reliable but it does say in the contract that it is not transferable to a dealer although it is transferable to another private party.

Another reason to consider Ford's ESP.

Hard to give an opinion on this from info provided. Is it a Ford extended warranty and how does GE fit into picture.

It was purchased at the Ford dealership when the car was bought new by the previous owner, but is administered by GE Capital Corp. of Canada.
