Warning to all with stock brakes this has probably been said but i didnt find it any where. The goverment has passed law the brake bads can no longer be made with asbesetos the result is crapy pads that dont disepate heat wortha S**t and produce so much dust its unbleliveable. but the probablm is that the poor heat distrubution warps rotors and the idiots at the parts store either dont know or wont tell you. so good excuse to upgrade brakeing ssytem i guess.

I thought it had already fallen out of favor as a primary material?
Lots of pads out there with no asbestos, right? And aren't there lots of materials that would work just as well or better?

FYI....
Asbestos has been illegal for use in OEM applications for years. The aftermarket is still allowed to use them however.

There could be quite a few reasons for your warped rotors. Hit a puddle when they were hot? Holding the brakes while in stop and go traffic while your rotors were hot? Etc.
Research your information more clearly next time. Pads don't dissipate heat...that is the job of the rotor. And as i said, Asbestos has been outlawed for OEM uses for years. Aftermarket pads and their makers are still allowed to use the material and most do as it poseses many desirable qualities. So there is no need to "warn everyone with stock brakes"....especially when you don't clearly understand the issue.
And by the way, a little punctuation, capitalization and basic grammar would be a welcome addition to your rambling.
