Here's an update & a question. We are going to be forced to trade it in to a stealership. She dosen't want to drive the SVT and wants something a bit more reliable (Camery/Corola). I figure I'll get $13k for the trade in. It burns me but I have no choice.

I have indiglo gauges installed. Should I take them out before the trade in? I believe mods lower the resale value, correct?

Thanks again for all the support. It is a tough time right now.

If you were to choose one car or the other, I'd say definitely keep the Toyota. As a professional mechanic, I know that Fords always break down a lot more than Toyotas ever do. Plus, if you own a Contour, you need to have a second car around anyways, because as often as they break (judging from all the reader's postings here in these Contour forums), you would save a lot, in rental car fees by having alternate means of transpo. Just hanging around this forum for a couple of weeks lately (as I have), I'm getting scared of what is to come for me and my Contour (105,000mi). If I added up all of the common problems that people here seem to be having with their cars, it would add up to the amount (worth in repairs) that I still owe on my '95 SE ($3500). And I can even do all my own repairs, but I still worry! I guess I've been fairly lucky with my car (only broke a few times), but maybe I ought to just get out from under it (while the gettin out's good), but the problem is, whenever I drive it, all those worries just tend to fade away, as I fall back into the spell of the car's excellent handling. Like a big catch 22 if you ask me. But as long as I still have my other truck, I will probably keep this darn paradoxic wonder

'95 CONTOUR SE
-Enkei 16s
-Porsche944 Exhaust tip
- Audi xenon projector headlights
-Peterbilt 30" air horns
-mp3 Aiwa headunit (150 songs on one disc)
-dual 10s
-soon to have LED tailights (real kind, not just gay bulbs)
-That's it for now

Josch, you echo exactly what I am thinking. But I am in no way trying to turn this in a Ford bashing/Toyota praising thing. I love my Tour. But I am more comfortable with/in my 4Runner.

Any opinions on if I should lose the indiglo gauges or not?

Just have to interject ------

There is NOTHING PRACTICAL about a SUV in NYC!

I am there at least 5 times a month and wish I had something smaller than my SVT on the days I am.

Citycars baby!
