I have a 99 contour 4 clinder with a automatic tranny.

Does anyone know where I can find which engine I have in it. Or is there different engines??

Thanks,
Bradley

UUmmmmm.....Let me take a wild shot at this, You have a 4 banger(cylinder)...ding ding ding, we have a winner!!
What do you mean what engine do you have? You answered your own question. There are either 4 Cylinder Zetec engine or V6 Duratec. That's it.

Now, now take it easy. Not everyone who comes here is mechanicaly or technically inclined. It is our job to mould them, not treat them like idiots.
Bradley, you have the 4 cylinder Z-tec engine which has a forum of it's own here. You can get some great info there.

Bradley,

Yes, there are a few differences in the Zetec 2.0 4cyl engines. Some of the engines will have VCT stamped on the top cover; this stands for Variable Cam Timing, which replaces the EGR (Exhaust Gas Recirculation) systems. I believe this was done in the 98 and above models for the Zetecs. Also, the 98 and above models have 130 Horsepower at the crankshaft, and the older models have 125 horsepower. You've got a 99, so you definitely have the better deal!

Also, welcome to the CEG! I hope we've answered your question, but if you have anything else you want to know, don't hesitate to ask. smile

Thanks for all the help. I'm new to Contours and don't know that much about em'. Guess I'll have to start learning.

Thanks again,
