and passed with a custom exhaust???

my plan is to go with 2.25 or 2.5 mandrel bent piping and sho shop or other hi flow cat along with magnaflow muffler for resonator and magnaflow out the back

doesn't sound to me like i would have trouble passing with this more or less basic stuff but i was just wondering....

i dont have to get my car smogged til dec but if its gonna potentially be a problem i may make myself wait til the new yr after the tests....

then again the test are so strict now that i may have trouble passing with the now 8yr old stock equipment

and how about passing with something like sho shop's y pipe thrown in the mix???

any feedback appreciated

I see nothing in your post that would give you any trouble at a smog check. After reading your signature, however, some smog places might not pass you for the visual part of the test because of the Monster flow air filter.

Most places just check to see if everything that is stock is still there (and they have books with pics and diagrams to check against). If you have a new cat at your mileage, you shouldn't have any problem with that.

The last time I had my car smog checked, the guy who did it even tested the gas cap! [I got a good price :p .)

Hope that this puts you mind at ease at least a little bit.

how about this...

I just smogged my SVT back in April. I took out my open filter and put a K&N in the stock airbox. I have a 2.5" SCA catback exhaust, SHOshop y-pipe with cat, and I forgot to take out my Superchip. The car did not get a tuneup before the smog, it passed, with the tech looking at the gas filler and under the car for the cat.

That's with 98K miles on the odometer, all of those miles, mine.
