Another good example of a driver's race is the GS-R Integras vs the Si Civics. Both are equally as fast (because they're a very similar car).

Not unless it was an Automatic!

A manual GT would pull on either a Prelude or SVT in every gear. It's called 60 more HP (tons more TQ) and only 400lbs heavier. Power to weight...

We are talking stock for stock here of course & assuming the fact the driver of the GT knew that you had to upshift at redline... :p laugh

Also I'm not saying a highly modified Prelude or SVT couldn't run with or beat a late model stock GT. Just the number of car's that could are extremely small compared to the whole enthusiast crowd...

Uhh.. I'm going to take MUCH heat for this one, but Preludes don't break. Hahaha. That's about the only difference in performance. You can abuse them mercilessly ALL DAY LONG without fear of broken tranny's, blown engines or smoked clutches. I like my little SVT, but I miss the way you can pound a Honda without fear of it ever breaking.

I blew my honda's engine and I drive my tour a lot harder than I did my old honda.

Hey Jap-
We have branches all over the country, why don't we try to get, say, 2-3 STOCK SVT Contours and STOCK Preludes together at a track and let them go at it? It looked like you guys have a lot of Michigan members as do we....I'd volunteer but I have several hundred pounds of subs/amps/box in my trunk...

Man tohse guys are trippin if they acctually think a 99 and up GT 5 speed is slower than a prelude. Even the 98 GT in a 5 speed should beat a prelude speed. I have lost to the 5 speed GT's but have beat automatic GT's. We all can't be the fastest!

come on guys, someone meet him at a track...

I think it would be better to get 2-3, so you could eliminate driver skill as best as possible...

in somewhat defense of the prelude guys, they are better than most ricers and we all have to consider this: The mean age of this board albeit probably in the low 20's is still higher than most rice boards...maturity comes with age....usually
