hmmmmm...depends if your friend can, or wants to shell the kind of money it would cost to service an M3. I'd certainly want the Bimmer more than the Mustang, but that's all up to taste.

BMW is nice, but it just doesnt have the raw power/torque of the GT.

I think you'll see a bias here toward the M3. I mean, come on, its a refined, German, fast, great handling sedan. Just like... well, you get the picture. Same price? For me it's no contest.

If I jsut had the money for the car?
If I just had enough cash to shell out for a car, I would go for the mustang. Lower maintenance costs, lower INSURANCE, and more "bang for the buck." IE: cheaper mods, and is already faster than the M3. Handling is the biggest compromise but can be modified to perform very well.
If I had enough money to buy the car and then lots of money to spend on the car on top of the cost of buying it....then i'd go for the M.

Got behind one once. Had some kinda aftermarket muffler/exhaust system that actually sounded good :p That was the only mod I could see (& hear) any way it was single lane with a little bit O grade to it. I had a feelig he was going to jump on it so I kept her in a lower gear (just in case ) He jumped on it and so did I. I wasn't sure but (thinking that they were a lighter car) I thought he would pull away from me. And I would just try to keep it respectable. But to my surprise I stayed right tight on its ass! Plesantly surprised Yoda was :p I really like them though. Really like their looks. And Quick to boot! Mike
