I've been away from the boards for a while now. I just found out that after my car has been for sale for 6 months at Sunset Ford I finally recieved the consignment check in the mail a couple days ago.. figures that it sells a couple weeks before my parents were gonna let me look at getting another car.

I'm not sure..stuck between practicallity of my love of the track
Now that my band is getting more shows and my music equipment is increasing it won't fit in most cars but idealy I would love to get a GSX, just don't think its practical enough.

How does consignement work with cars? I've never heard of anyone doing that before. What kind of cut does the dealer take? Who determines the price?

I'm not sure exactly..hell my dad doesn't even know what the whole deal was. We have been long time family friends with the owner of Sunset Ford. He just took the job of selling it as a favor. not sure what it actually sold for but I got a check for $14,500. I'm guessing they sold it for around $16,000. Now that I think of it I should have just plopped that check into my bank account..lol

I just bought an SVT Contour at Sunset Ford. I got it last month but I didn't see a 2000 model there. Mine is a black 98. I would imagine there's only one Sunset Ford, the one in Garden Grove?

whoa... maybe you brought his car. How much did you paid?

He indicates his is a 2000 model year SVT. Mine is a '98. I didn't pay that much though. I found it on the internet and it was just under $11K. 69K miles on it though.

weird..its been there for quite a while..I tihnk like 5-6 months....It was a silver Frost 00' SVT with B&M Shortshifter, door strips removed, Monster Flow intake and sony explode head unit and CD changer. 20k miles, only 9k on the new engine.

Maybe they sold it a while ago and just took a while getting the check to me. but yeah that is the same sunset ford with Willy the Whale
