I've been fancying an aftermarket exhaust for my SVT Tour.
Borla is the obvious first choice, but I'm not so keen on their prices.
Bassani is equally pricy & I'm not sold on their sound, being a bit much for my tastes; e.g. too loud & "ricy."
My factory Y-pipe will definitely be 86ed at the same time, so I am now curious about South County Autosport's system. They claim it comes with its own Y-pipe which is curious since it states it is a "cat-back system." They also offer the SHO Shop pipe which is equally curious because why they would offer a competitor's product if they have their own version?
So, my question is whether anyone has this set-up or is familiar with it to give me some idea if it is a viable alternative?
I'm concerned about whether it may be too loud & also how durable it is due to the aluminized tubing versus stainless steel.
I do intend to pay SCA a visit one of these days to tour their facility & ask them directly, but any assistance my fellow SoCal CEGers could give in the meantime would be appreciated.

I have it. "kinda" i had it. well the y-pipe they say they have is just the y used to split into dual out the back. like an svt has it split in the back nothng special. it doesn't come with the y-pipe your thinking about. i had a sho shop y-pipe, no cat, sca exhaust. it was really raspy and loud. sounds good at idle and low rpms. but if you romp on it all you get is loud rasp. so when when one of the mufflers scraped off going over a dip i replaced both with magnaflows. it now sounds much better. i also noticed that the sca mufflrs were rusting out. I recomend just buying borla, bassani or have something custom made(sho shop y-pipe 2.5" pipeing into two magnaflows or any others[chow used bullets]). i wouldn't go with sca if you are getting a sho shop y-pipew/no cat.

The Y-design that you see in the ad is a revised rear design. The SCA exhaust does not come with the forward "Y-pipe". You'll have to purchase the SHOshop unit if you want one. I have the SCA exhaust, as well as the SHOshop y-pipe with the hi-flow cat (older design, which isn't "modular"). I had to tone the rasp down that was created with the Y-pipe by putting in a glasspack muffler to act as a resonator. I love the way it sounds now!

Thanks for the replies.
Looks like (or is that "sounds like?") I'll avoid the SCA exhaust & go with either Borla or a custom system after all.

Chow, Yep, that's exactly been my philosophy too. That's why I went with the DynoMax exhaust system on my Saleen; e.g. it was the only one (other than Borla) that was offered in stainless steel at that time. Everyone else was either aluminized or painted mild steel. Plus it didn't hurt that DynoMax was the OEM system chosen by Saleen for their SSC model. However, I did add the BBK catalytic 'H' pipe which is aluminized & it has held up as well as the stainless steel components.
