Hello,

Just wanted to introduce myself to SoCal. Been to this site a million times, but never registered.

I thought I would tell you a little about myself. You may know my old Contour. It was a 1999 Silver SVT, from the South Bay.
Mod list.. Too much to list, but maybe this little bit will help you recognize it.

18" MAS MGRs, KKM Sails, Carbon treatment on Head lights, DTM Stainless Exhaust, Original BTCC Brit flags on fenders, no emblems, tint all the way, Indiglo SVT Tach by the windshield pillar. Lots of interior alum, and engine bolt ons.Pretty tame.
It was at the Fab Fords Forever year before last, and at many opentrack events at Willow Springs (Love that place) and one at Button Willow.

I sold it to some kid in Lancaster, and now I have seen it for sale again in Auto trader.

I now drive a 2001 Volvo. 18" wheels, upgraded Mitsu Turbo center section, Hayama Stainless exhaust, and TME computer upgrade. 202HP at the wheels. IT sucks, its an auto and a Volvo.. frown can you say boring; dont know what I was thinking

I really Love Fords and have built about 25. I have built/owned a 480HP blown 347 stroked 89" 5.0, to a 65 K-coupe Mustang that is currently running at the top of its class (B production VARA).

I love to talk cars and really love the Contour. I dread everyday that I sold it.

I am currently in the process of purchasing a New Subi WRX, and have been designing suspension components for them. I will hopefully have a booth at next years SEMA under the name Starlin Autonetics. You never know maybe I will make some stuff for the Contour.
Thanks for the Cool Site and look forward to shootin the **** with some fellow car guys and gals...
john. sorry to be so long winded

Chow, if you're talking about the SVT that he used to own, you have seen it, it's now Garretts (SMP291).

Which Volvo are you driving now? S40? I really like that car....

Thats the ONE! laugh Yes I belive the kids name was Garrett. You guys dont know why he is selling it do you? Was he on this site? And has he done anything else to the car?
Not a ton done to the engine on that car, but Im sure if I still owned it, it would be a different car now. I dissasemled my buddies Cougar motor and did some clean up on the exhaust ports and combust chambers. Made some high end power gain. Was going to try to do that to my Contour. I ended up with a new company car at that time and wanted to save money so I sold it. Dumb Idea.
It was funny When I bought that car in late 99, nobody was really doing anything for that car. Now I jumped back on the CEG site and I cant belive that there are so many Exhaust systems and misc other mods. The only exhaust that was avail at the time was the Borla and South Count.
Before I sold it, I was talking with Vortech and was real excited about thier blower, but all I have heard is problems with it. Its because of that ridiculous location design, IE Jackshaft. Love Vortech, but I think they made a mistake on that thing.

I have noticed alot of people talking about a turbo set up on the Duratech. Has anyone contacted St.Andres? They did a custom turbo on my friends 00 4banger Accord that was insane.

OH!!! by the way Im driving a S40. And no its not nice. I think the main reason I dislike it is the AUTO. Plus there is not a lot of performance equipment for it. Like I said Im really looking forward to buying the WRX. I drove my buddies last night(can you say bad A**?) He has the SYMS shifter, KYB/H&R combo, SYMS Cat back, UDP, Computer upgrd, and K&N panel. HOLY S***. this thing will pull on almost anything on the street. THe WRX will get into the low 13s with minimal mods. EXPENSIVE mods, but minimal.
