To all So-Cal CEGers,
I am moving back home to San Diego at the end of this week after (7) grueling, agonizing years in this god-forsaken prairie purgatory aka Wichita, Kansas.

My girlfriend & I will be spending a couple of days with her uncle in Las Vegas, then we should arrive in SD the following week (Oct. 2nd to 5th)

Once we get settled in, I definitely want to attend some of the remaining Ford-powered shows on this year's calendar.

Hopefully I'll get an opportunity to meet some of you at these shows or perhaps just cruising around over the next few months.

Can't wait to get back home... laugh cool

I grew up in Topeka and have family in Andover. I have been out here for just over three years and dont plan on going back anytime soon. Have a safe trip out. Which way are you going, assuming 40?
Where did you live in Wichita, I have seen a couple SVT's in the Andover area when I have visited.

stunts,
Thanks for the reply.

Actually we're taking the "northern route" which is I-35N to I-70W to I-15S, so we'll be going through Colorado, Utah, Nevada then California.
I've previously driven the "southern route" on I-40 going to & fro SD/Wichita & believe it or not it is 20 miles longer.

Plus my girlfriend has never spent much time in the western U.S. so we wanted a more scenic route.

I reside(d) in the Northeast section of Wichita right next to I-96. A couple of my friends are residents of Andover.

Pardon me if I insulted your home town/state by my "prairie purgatory" comment. wink

No offence taken. Like I said, I dont plan on going back anytime soon.
70 is a good route, really beautiful in CO. Good choice. I have some family in AZ so I usually take 40 to stop off and see them. Take some games or something you are going to be bored off your ass in western KS and eastern CO. I think only nebraska is flatter.
Let us know when you arrive.

Chow,
Thanks, but don't welcome me back just yet...
wait until I actually arrive in SD! wink

The car show on the 7th maybe a bit soon for me to attend as we will still be unpacking & setting up after the move.

However, this will not preclude us from going to the beach on the Saturday immediately after our arrival, likely the 6th.

I can already feel the warm California sun & ocean breezes caressing my face, whilst my eyes are blessed with beach bunnies cavorting along the PB boardwalk & my taste buds welcome the first cool gush of Hefeweizen from a Lahaina Beach House pitcher... cool cool cool
