Hanlon's tire in San Bruno. They have done my springs, struts and 4 wheel alignment. Good work and very accomodating. There on San Bruno Ave right next to the train tracks. One of the guys there, named Dave I think, used to work on contours at ford dealership. The do good work. Expect about $70 for a 4 wheel alignment.

Thanks unnerv. $70 is not bad... $10 cheaper than the dealership. I'll check them out this week. BTW, do you know if they take appointments? Or is it strictly walk-in?

In all honesty I've never had a problem with Big-O. Once they mounted my tires but didn't balance them right so there was vibration on the freeway. Took it back and they ficed it free of charge without making me wait. So I just keep going there.

Last time I checked they were $60 for an alignment out here. Prices may have changed though.

My 2 cents.

I usually give them a call in the morning to see how there load for the day is. What was really cool about them is I had a four wheel alignement done and about a month later I had my springs and and struts replaced by them, and the did the alignment the second time for free.

Yeah... I called Big 0 before... and it was $60 for the 4 wheel.... The thing is, I got it (actually, my brother took it in for me) @ Winston Tires the last time... and they didn't straighten the wheel for me... so I'm kinda leery of chain stores.... and with the thread in another forum about looking for small businesses that need repeat customers....

Anyway, the only reason I ever go back to Winston is, because I need the "free rotation" in order to keep the tires under warranty. (I used to go for the free Oil Change too...) By the way, I only got about 25K miles on the Dunlop D60A2's..... so I brought the car back... and the manager put the warranty claim in, in some way that I got the new set of SP SportA2 free. All i had to pay was the mounting, balancing, etc, etc.... came to around $90 total.

Stinger - Which Big O did you bring it to? I was thinking of taking it to the one on Mission, in SF... cuz they also had a Hunter Balancer.... but I don't think I want to pay $15 to have each wheel balanced... especially since they don't feel out of balance.

I go to winston tires, look em' up to see if there is one by you.

But by all means DO NOT go to wheel works. They told me that there was no way to do a 4 wheel alignment on a contour  Dumb****s

The only reason to get a 4 wheel alignment is if your car was in a frame altering accident. Other than that your wasting your money. Don't pay extra for a "4 wheel" alignment, it doesn't do anything. The front is the only thing that really matters but even then, if your SVT is lowered, it won't be a true alignment as camber cannot be adjusted.

4 wheel alignments are generally for AWD, 4WD and RWD cars. FWD benefit very little from this type of alignment.

Well something happened with my car which caused the rear tires to wear dramatically more on the inside than the outside. i would have thought that had something to do with the stuff in the back. Only thing that could have caused it was that damn tow truck, NO I haven't hit any cones or sidewalks  laugh
