Well, they were thousands of miles overdue @26k, and you could faintly make out that there was once a tread pattern.... So I ambled into The Tire Shop here in town. He gets a lot of discontinued stuff and blems, and deals them at a rock-bottom price. I had to wait for a new shipment to come in this week, then had my choice (in 215/50/16), of either BFG Comp T/A VR4's @$80, or Michelin Pilot HX MXM's (O.E. on BMW 328i's) @$85... (including mounting/balancing)
I went with the Michelins (215/50/VR16).... Haven't really had a chance to do any serious mountain charging yet, but they do seem to have very good grip so far. They also seem much quieter, and have a better ride than the KDW's.... Hopefully the weatherwill clear up a bit, and I can get out to the switchbacks!
Hopefully they'll last a little longer than the KDW's, too!
