on my way to the office coming in from Redwood City and traffic is pretty tight, pickup truck in front of me launches this object and I of course run over it with my Right front tire.

BAM!

shook me up a bit but I thought nothing was too wrong until I start to smell GAS..........

I check out my mirrors and don't notice anything spewing out the back, maybe its the diesel Ram in front of me confused ..........

Still driving and still smelling gas........

I spy a Daewoo Lanos chilling in the right lane cruising down the freeway with GAS spewing out from under the car, were talking a shlt load of gas.......

I'm paying more attention to my car as I start to notice my alignment is Focked as my car is pulling to the right.............

more I drive worse it gets.........

I finally figure I am losing major air pressure in my front tire as things just aren't right......

I pull over on the Bascom exit and my tire now is completely dragging.........

flip on the hazards and get out to asess the problem......one flat ass tire...... no visible damage to wheel.

Get the spare, jack and wrench and get to work. Mind you I have a 5:30pm meeting and its 5:18. I jack up the car, get the wheel off and .........
.
.
.
.
....

My wheel is tortorously bent

Put the donut on and roll to the office.

I look back on the events leading up to this and remember I saw something fly out from under my car about 2 miles after hitting the object.......that would have been my wheel weight for balancing.

So...... maybe I will call Miguel/Jose/Luis/Jesus/ Drty Sanchez at San Fernando tire and wheel and inquire if he has an extra laying round. Maybe he used one as a planter for his Jalapeno plants confused

So basically I will be needing a place to fix my wheel. I will be rolling on 3 17's and 1 16" as soon as I get home.

Of course I'm still at work with a whole heap of things to get done and no time to do it in.

Anybody wanna provide some lube........I just got anally bareback raped like no one can imagine....... well maybe the Cougah boys know how I feel wink

FYI, if you get a flat or run out of gas during the commute hours, you can get free service from roaming tow trucks. I picked up a nail somewhere (gawd, there goes another $180) and noticed HWY 101 was a bit bumpier than usual. Thinking I had a flat, I let go of the wheel for a couple of seconds. SVT went straight as an arrow, so didn't think too much about having a flat after that - until...

About 100 yards later, some dude in a silver somethingorother flags me down and points to the shoulder. I'm a half mile from my exit. The only place to pull over is right in front of a handy CHP officer, who had someone pulled over for speeding. What a break!

I sent my friend over to attract the cop's attention while I began pulling the spare that that stupid little jack that came with the car. As I'm dinking with the jack, the cop comes over and tells me to go sit on the side of the road while he calls a tow. Apparently cops don't like people to change flats on the driver's side during commute traffic. Too dangerous.

A tow truck came out and the driver put the spare on my car, telling me "No charge". He hands me a card to fill out and leaves. I had no idea there was such a great service available to commuters in California.

Free service = Good.

I agree.........

however I had an important meeting to be at and I changed the tire in about 15minutes or less!

Jason,

yes James and I bought the last of the wheels, hence Bangers and my jokes about one being used as a planter at the Jose-Escobar-Sanchez Guadalupe-Rozario residence

Surprisingly that tow truck showed up in five minutes. I was asking the cop to call AAA for me and he said they take too long and I might as well use the roaming tow truck in the area.

Eh, can't complain. I guess it's a good thing I didnt' get that flat on the way to work. They would have fired my butt for being late. Stupid nazi employers.

It doesn't take any skill to launch an ATX with 170hp.

NEXT!

No, it doesn't, but he launches so bad, I could smoke him off the line in my 92hp MTX 1994 Plymouth Laser, with one front wheel worn more than the other, and a bad alternator and battery. wink
