Can someone explain to me what it is and should I be concerned about it? I read about it in the problems forum. My beauty is a '98 E1 CSVT. Thanks!

make that "my dash"...

look for the dash to start to come up in the corners. get a sunshade and/or avoid parking in direct sunlight.

Does it warp where the vents meet the dashboard, in the middle? Mine kinda looks all strange, but the corners look alright. I consider myself to be lucky since my car has been sitting in the sun for eight months! eek

The problem is with the E1's cheap ass interior. You shouldn't have problems with a E0 dash. Where theirs warps ours has a plastic plate that keeps the dash from getting too hot under the window. E1's don't have this.

Pardon me for butting in (I used to live in SF), but the problem with the dash is limited to the 1999 and 2000 years. I had a late-year 98, and its dash was different than the one in my 2000 (which warped). Thank TRW for the cruddy construction (they made it).

So, a 98 E1 should have no problems.

My dassy started by the black plastic vent director poped out on the right side then continued across the dash. They said it will be an allday deal, but o well, I get a new dash...

Thanks everyone. If I understand y'all correctly, I do not have to worry about it because my beauty is a '98 E1 and the dash is not prone to dash warp? Sorry for my ignorance. Trying to make sense of all the various replies.

Peace!
