I'm afraid to ask since I DON'T DO IT MYSELF. But can anyone recommed a good place to get the brakes(pads) replaced. It's for my Mom's 94 Grand Marquis. She wants to go to the dealer where they'll charge her an arm and a leg. Any help is appreciated.

the newspapers and mailers are always running brake specials, check out this sunday's paper or one of those value paks you get in the mail. I can't really see to many professional shops screwing up a brake job so you should be safe with wherever you go.

Make sure you don't get organic pads! A lot of the specials are quoting prices for the cheapest pads they can get. They may charge extra for semi-metallic but they're much better. You definitely don't want crappy brakes on larger cars.
