 yesterday on one of my random trips to buy contraband from Berkely and San Francisco my SVT started having problems. This after I just recently got my car back with the 3rd gear sychro fix. The started off with me having a little difficutlty shifting into first, eventually I had to shift into second to get to first. Time passes and more time passes and later I basically can't shift first and am having to launch in 2nd. Through SF rush hour i'm having trouble and now 2nd sticks so i'm using 3rd... get home... reverse works so i reverse the car in. Today I had to have it towed to Ford....... it's still under warranty though.... :rolleyes:

yuk! my tranny is getting sticky in the cold weather and the bastages at the garage were going to charge me $170 just for the Synthetic Tranny Fluid... grrr..

Could you guys stop, your scaring me, I've never had a problem with my car. I'm about to turn over 45 and my warranty is long gone. If I just jinx myself your all going to dei a horrible death.

Well, just to balance things out, my 96 SE 'tour is still going strong at 104,000 miles and the engine still pulls very strongly. I've had the usual water pump stupidities, and I've replaced all 3 cats twice , once under warranty, and once on my dime (a mistake, I now think).
So at least some 'tours can manage quite a few problem free miles ...

i called the service rep 2day, he told me when he tried to drive it he felt as if there was no linkage. i'm getting the diagnosis later this afternoon.... :rolleyes:

and the problem is............. the linkage problem originated from the shifter. They only had 2 bolts in there instead of the four and those weren't even tightend, and the other two were nonexistant. They owned up to the matter and now my car feels better than the day i bought her, very crisp shifting.
