Seeing how my last post on a meet got taken over by a tire discussion I am reposting it. the group has been really dead last 2 months so if no one responds then I won't try again.
We haven't had a drive in awhile so I thought I would throw out an idea for January (or any other month cause of weather).
If it is not raining...we could take Hwy 9 from Saratoga Ave. This is about a twisty 20 minute high speed road but also scenic for those who wish to hang back. From there we jump onto 236 which is a very tight twisty road (also scenic) for about 20 min.
236 will run us right into Big Basin. We can drive right thru or stop and do some hikes. I think day use fees are about $5 per car.
Continuing on 236 we will find ourselves in Boulder Creek where people can gas up and eat lunch. We could possible split the cost of some lunch at Round Table.
Thens it back on to hwy 9 to 17. From there we could go to Santa Cruz or head home.
This is more convenient for the bay Area folks so if you Sac folks wanna meet then throw your ideas out there.
Let me know what y'all think...

well i was thinking of an inland drive this time possibly a dyno day/drive? there's a great twisty road up here called Highway 49... my buddy's shop is downtown Sac then we could take a run up Highway 50 (near Placerville) then connect up to 49 and run up to Sutter's Mill (where Sutter found Gold) and hang-out ?? thoughts? ideas?

Sounds good to me! I should be getting my SVT soon. Yeah HWY 49 is a blast. Pretty up there too! There is another road but I cannot think of the name. You get off on El Dorado Blvd and just keep driving north. Goes for a while too.. some good spots off Folsom Lake to hang out at too.

I'm down. The wife wants to go again. She had a blast last time.
I'll go to either meet. I'm moving to Tracy sometime in January, so my schedule is subject to rapid change. Later in the month is probably the best bet.
I'm not interested in Dyno'ing my car, but I can hang out and watch you guys do it!

As soon as I get my car back, I'm in for a drive. Driving around Sac, or south San Jose.. both are fine by me...
Cheers, Tom

Thats sounds fine...I don't really wanna drive that far but you all came down for us so I suppose we owe you one. Not sure if I will dyno or not as I don't have much done to the car and finances may not allow it.
Good ideas fellas...keep them coming.

A drive sounds good, wherever you decide. No real interest in the dyno though.
