Hey, so I just moved out here to the bay area. Are there any recomendations on good places to take our Contour to for some repairs. Something's messed up with either the manifold or the catalytic convertor (Not sure.. It has some of the symptoms of the 97E61, but I'm not sure. Plus the coolant sensor's messing up, and it is also having the symptoms of TSB 97-11-2.

Which is the potential for a dealer trying to snowjob me. wink Any recomendations? Anybody have any idea about what maintenence on this level is going to cost me?

Well first off welcome to the group! Fell free to post the symptoms of your car problems in the problem forum. You will get a much better answer if you ask there than in this forum! A good ford dealership? Does that exist?? Honestly the only thing I can say is don't go to any dealerships in San Jose! They all suck!

What are the details on your car? SVT/regular atx/mtx

The car is an LX V6, 1995, automatic.

Purchased by my father in law and handed down to my wife. So there's a dent that he made and then there's a dent that my dad put in recently to match it.. wink

I'll check on the problems forum..

Shamrock Ford hasn't given me any problems. And I'm not stock. Though they do like to point out how many motor mounts I've broken.
Of course they're way out here in Pleasanton.
My friend has gone to Walnut Creek Ford, and he don't like them very much. Poor service with extra long waits.
The only 2 I have any experience with.

I have used Future Ford in Roseville for most of my service needs and I must say they are excellent! The service department is open until midnight, yes midnight Mon - Fri, and they are open on Saturday.

Unless your car is under warranty, SCREW ALL DEALERSHIPS!!! They are pricey and slow. Best to find a good private shop somewhere.

Welcome to CEG!

Slow Lane bought the SVT at Shamrock Ford. I have only had it back 3 times for minor warranty work, AC mostly. They have been professional and timely in each case. Call 'em at 925/829-5212 and ask for Don Osche (pronounced O-shay). He's a square shooter and a decent guy.

I drive slow for longest life and best gas milage. (28.48 MPG avg at 26K miles)
I just don't bother to slow down for the curves!
