Hey everyone-

I am thinking about ordering new tires through TireRack, but want to make sure the place I go to do the install is reputable. Anyone have any experience with a place in San Francisco? Thanks,

Evan

I donno about SF, but I had mine installed in WheelWorks in San Mateo. They charged something like 10 bucks per tire plus ~$2 for stems, so the whole thing for under $50. Got in and out in about 30 minutes.

Alex-

So it only cost you $50 on top of the tires to get them replace. Wow. Might be worth it to go for a drive. Any problems with them? Thanks,

E

Evan,

I would give them a call first and find out what they are charging now. Because they usually order tires for people from tirerack or someplace else and add 15-20 bucks over per tire over what they pay elsewhere. Then you get them mounted for free (it's really inclded in the extra 20 bucks they charge). I did not buy the tires through them, but bought my directly from tirerack, because the didn't want to deal with me (long story, I just had some concerns about fitting and they did not want to take the responsibility, if the tires didn't).
Like I said, their usual charge for mounting was a little higher then what I paid, but one of their service guys, wrote down for me $10 bucks per tire for mounting (may be he made a mistake or something). But anyways, I just had them meet the price they quoted.

If you are going to go through them, just make sure that you know where all of your scratches are on the wheels, just to make sure that they didn't put any new ones. I am not saying that they did, but I only had my wheels for a short time (got them used), but I thought I got few extra ones from having tires mounted, but since I didn't take any close up pictures before, I cann't say that may not be true.

Check out their website, they should have a lot of locations in the whole bay area.
