Hey folks,
Figured I'd introduce myself... I just moved to Cali from Ohio in December (warmer!), so I'm not terribly familiar with this area. I live in Redwood City, and work in Santa Clara, and I love the area so far (I have a banked corkscrew in one of the roads leading to my house).
I've got an early 99 SVT, silver, which I have thus far installed a short shift kit in (god, I love it). I've recently made the decision to purchase a vortech, and I'm looking for someone good to do the work. Right now, I'm sorta looking at Campbell Performance Ford- anyone have any experience with them, or someplace else that they would specifically recommend? I was thinking of making a weekend jaunt to LA and having SHO Shop or SC Autosports do the install, but I've come to the conclusion I'd rather have someone local who knows what is under the hood of my car.
Anyhow, it sounds like you folks have regular meets and suchlike- what's the scoop? I'm interested in meeting you folks, and the drives sound like an absolute blast
laugh

welcome! we are always glad to have new members join!! great choice on the car! laugh

i have not heard anything about Campbell Performance Ford. in my opinion i wouldnt bother with sca. there are people, including me, who have had some bad experiences with them. i would however recommend sho shop, they are nice to deal with and they do some extensive work on contour svt's...including installing a 3.0l in a 'tour. i would say they know what there doing. you should also do a search and talk to people who have them installed. if i were you i would look in the so cal section and see what they suggest. im really just not sure around here.

we have a meet coming up next saturday may 26th. marshallc will have some more details....

Welcome ikarius I have taken my car to campbell ford performance and they are pretty good. If you have talked to them in person then they do seem a little thick, but their alright. I actually talked with them about the vortech installation a while back, but they only have expirience installing superchargers on mustangs. Honestly I don't see any reason why you shouldn't take it there. They would be doing my engine replacement, but they didn't want one guy to work 25 hrs on one car. Hope this helped.

Welcome Ikarius! I saw your message on our Yahoo site.

Its cool to have another Tour in the group (especially a soon to be supercharged SVT. I work in Santa Clara too...where exactly do you work?
And try this place:
DJ Performance
3480 Pearle Ave
San JOse, CA

Ask for Dell

They did my koni/eibach suspension. Dell seemed to know contours. Not sure if he is familiar with the engine though. Or if they do that type of install. But you could try them. Its not local for you but you may be able to drop it off while your at work.
