Attn all: Right click on that asinine picture, go to Properties and cut-and-paste the URL into your browser, and you'll see the intended picture.

My understanding originally was that the Focus replaced both the Contour and the Escort, but I've heard something about this Contour replacement before... Will it be Europe only, or do we get one?

Check out the Cossie version. Maybe it's not a crime to hot-link this! Jeesh!

My only gripe is the huge front grilles. I dunno; I just love how the 98+ Contour fronts look, and there aren't many vehicles that beat them laugh

Shrink them a bit, and I love that car. Hope it comes to the US!

That pic is the "facelifted" Focus for 2003 or 04 in Europe. I don't know if the US car will get it.

The closest thing to a 'Contour replacement' won't get here until 2006! It's going to be a Ford badged Mazda 6 from Flat Rock MI plant. The '6' is getting good reviews, and I don't plan to wait til '06 for a new car!

The Focus was to "supplant" the Contour Zetecs and the Escort. Supposedly, the Taurus SES was to be a V6 "Tour successor" Not quite!

2000 SE fleet, V6, ATX, ABS, no spoiler, T-Green/tan. Built 01/2000 in MO.
Added 12 spoke factory SE rims, K&N. Biggest mod: ESP Plan!

Maybe if you use the "suc" part and leave the "cess" for the pools; "or" just maybe not at all... wink

Ford spent a ton of cash on the 96 Taurus with the cat fish look, and it bombed. So, they spent $$$ for the 2000 remake. Since, they did this, then they couldn't spend more $$$ on a US Mondeo, shocked

The bad thing about the Focus is the first year problems have tainted it. Too many recalls and investigations, now it's branded "unreliable". If Ford just offered a warranty like Hyundai, there'd be no questions.
