Anyone know how much a new clutch costs with labor for a 98 SVT?

How many miles do you have on your 98? I have a 98 w/125k miles, and I still dont need a clutch.

I have 53K and the people that want to buy it are convinced that it's going to cost $1700 and that it will need a clutch immediately.

Is there something special about changing clutches on our cars because my mechanic has quoted me $500 for a Honda Accord and Mazda Rx-7 clutch + install. $1700 sounds outrageous!!!!

I'm going to call my mechanic 2morrow and get a correct price. He knows what is bullshiznit and what is the truth.

The people said they found a place to install it for $600 so they are going to buy my contour. Hopefully I'll make it to one of the meets with my Cobra and you guys can try your luck against it.

Sell the car before they find out the painful truth. Apparently changing the clutch on an svt is very in-depth. Something about having to remove the entire subframe, and blah blah blah.......more money...blah blah blah....
Changing the clutch in the contour is harder than compared with other cars.
