I have a friend who is a sales person at the local audi dealership. So we took the B6 A4 1.8t Quattro out, I really wanted to drive an B5 S4 but they didn't have any on the lot ;(.

Anyways my friend totally thrashed it through an abandon parking lot. He must do it alot because there were alot of skid marks...etc. We must have went through several TIGHT corners at say 60+mph, very insane! Anyways once I was behind the wheel, I wasn't very impressed at all with the power. The car seemed very civilized. Interior was nice but for 30K (Price tested) I think they could have added a few things like Elect Seat adjustments and things like that.

The Handling was much improved over the B5 A4, and it does weigh 500+lbs more.

Overall I'm not that impressed and definatly wouldn't spend $30k+ on it.

He also said that in his recent Audi School Class they mentioned that the new B6 S4 would be a N/A V8(300-350hp), similar to the new RS6 but without the Turbo's and they moved the Timing belt to the rear of the engine so it would drop into the B6 Body. At least thats what they are leaning towards for now.

I wasn't really to worried about the A4's power just becuase I know that soon there will be chips available which probably will increase the power to an acceptable level.(From 170hp advertised)

I have determined one thing by this test drive. I must have QUATTRO!!!!

wink

Huh...just check AWE tuning and your right GIAC has one out.

Thanks for the heads up....I'm still not impressed with the price of the new A4 but I guess thats the going rate right now. I haven't compared it to anything else so maybe its a good deal?

Thanks

I do agree they look sweet no doubt about it. I have seen some VERY nice body kits for them too! But to satisfy my hunger I'd have to throw a stage 3+ into it wink So add another 3-4K into the picture!

Where can i find the kits for the A4, I will be picking up my S4 wed. since the SVT is totalled, and I really like the rs4 kit. Also I have been told that the chips are bad for them. But 60 hp for 600 dollars sounds like a good deal:)

www.goapr.com
www.lltek.com

www.forgemotorsports.com
www.awe-tuning.com

also find the abt website can't remember the link right off hand.

There are a ton of chips available. From what I have read the GIAC, apr, and MTM chips are the ones everyone gets.
