I am a newbie here. Maybe 2 months now. I use Webtv so alot of this bandwidth stuff is greek to me. I am a moderator of another website. Unrelated to this one. To me this website is small in comparison. If bandwidth is like usable space or something. One way to control that here is to do some serious house cleaning. You guys seem to really re-post un needed stuff. And why do people need to write you a book in the signature blocks? I am going to shorten mine right after I post this. I am not trying to be picky here or start a fight! I just think that alot of things on this site cold be condensed. that probably has nothing to do with bandwidth and now I look like a A**hole. Sorry , just my .02 cents worth.

I'll admit, I have very very limited knowledge about T1's and hosting things like contour.org, but aren't there still a good amount of CEGers that are college students that could tap into their school's T1 lines for the sake of the forums?

If all else fails... could always move to www.ezboard.com or someplace similar...
There are a lot of pop-ups... but if you go to www.panicware.com and get their pop-up stopper then you don't ever see them. Or with a few donations you can upgrade to "gold status" and get rid of the ads... There are a few heavy traffic sites up on there like the RiceCop forum for example...
We would lose the archives that we currently have of course, but its better than nothing.

An example is this crappy board I created one day when I was bored: http://pub59.ezboard.com/bptaaronsworld

Well, if the site is going down, we ought to figure it out before it does and people disappear.

Lance, if you're sick of dealing with the site (kinda sounds like you are), turn over the administration to someone else who is willing to put in the time. And if I misread your attitude, I apologize.

Either way, here's my idea. Figure out what it will cost to keep the site up for say, another 3 months. Put one of those running costs banners in all the forums and see if people actually ante up for the three months. If they do, you/we've got three months to get things figured out further. If they don't- people obviously don't care and let it go with clear conscience.

Question: how much time does the site actually have in it's current home?
