A patient came in today driving one - it is a prototype for the upcoming Neon... 2.4 Liter Turbo - runs a 13.7 or 13.9 1/4 stock. Something just isn't morally right about that ...

The SRT-4 comes out next spring, it was at auto shows this year. How long will Ford wait to up the Focus SVT's power?
2000 SE fleet, V6, ATX, ABS, no spoiler, T-Green/tan. Built 01/2000 in MO. Added 12 spoke factory SE rims, K&N. Biggest mod: ESP Plan!

How long will Ford wait to up the Focus SVT's power? Saw an article in this month's SCC that stated that Ford will be offering a ZX5 version of the FSVT and expect to see a Supercharged FSVT sometime in late 2003-early 2004 possibly.

If he was driving the new Neon SRT-4, there's no way those performance numbers are accurate, sorry.
That 2.4L Turbo churns out 205hp@5400 and 220tq@2000. That's good for *maybe* mid 14 second runs.
We'll see. There's still the transmission that the power has to be transferred through. *smirk*

If it's a prototype, most likely the boost isn't as low as will come out of the factory. Nice little project that SRT program is. Hopefully it will turn up the fire to Ford and GM so we can have another all out HP war for affordable street cars! Squeaks, rattles, recalls... I can put up with them all as long as I have HP! :p

The SRT-4 news has been out for many months. This isn't anything new... Also the only way he had a prototype is if he was on the testing range or near it. I highly doubt they'd let him take it to an appointment! (since it's an 03 model release) BTW - the SRT-4 does not look like a normal Neon or even an Neon SXT! Matt hit it on the head. Mid 14's is about right (it is light & if it gets traction) & the crack about the trannies is priceless and so true... Atleast it's a MTX tranny; if it was an ATX I wouldn't give it 2000 miles!!! :p
