Well, 9 months ago I got rid of my CSVT due to the poor transmission. 9 months later
I am getting rid of its replacement, the Sable LS Premium. Okay car, but too much of
a rental and the automatic tranny is nothing to write home about.

This morning I'm taking delivery on a 2000 LS V6 with the sport package, MTX, alpine/
cd changer upgrade, moonroof, and heated seats. Car has 19,400 miles on it and I
paid 19K for it. Ivory Parchment Tricoat outside, Medium tan leather inside. At least
it has the 4 year/50K bumper to bumper warranty on it, but from what I hear the
Getrag 5 speed is quite durable.

I think that one of our Contour colleagues in TX has a LS V8, right? laugh

Wow, if you can afford the trade in losses, good for you!

I had a friend who got a new car every 6 months to a year. After about 4 trades, he had to wait 3 years to catch up with being upside down.

Very cool. The Sport package makes a world of difference. Yes, I have the LS8 Sport.

The 3L V6 is pretty good with the Getrag. It should take a few easy bolt-on's, too. Try not to get the Borla exhaust, unless you can get it for about $600. More than that, and you can get a good custom system for the same, or less. A high-flow filter would be good, too. I'm thinking about making an airbox for a nice 7" open element, too.

Also, think about what the "wud" will look like covered in real carbon fiber. Interested? PM me if you are.

Other than that, you MIGHT want to check out www.llsoc.com . I don't particularly like the way the site is run, but they might have some neat stuff for you.

Have fun!

Hi Chris--I knew it was you. laugh
I will definitely pm you to talk about this vehicle and other things to do to it. At 210 HP it is rather sedate in acceleration and could use alittle bump. Hard to believe that this car is almost the same price I paid for my 00 SVT new with 3400 miles on it.

I am a member of the LLSOC, so you can find me on the discussion board there. I like the shifter on the car, and the whole cockpit feel up front. A great deal for the money.

To the other comment--I actually lost very little money on the Sable because they gave me a great trade in price, plus I orignally purchased it with a Ford Owner Appreciation Certificate (let's just say it was more than $4K in value), which was Ford's way of persuading me not to sue them over the Contour's tranny (being a lawyer and all). So this made good financial sense too, and it is such a cool car.

TODRAS--The LS is an excellent vehicle to buy used given its depreciation. I checked them out new, even leasing, and the dealers were trying to steer me away from leasing due to the depreciation. Like the Contour, a very good value used.
