The VIN checks out but judging from the wheels (SE) i'm skeptical.... Think this could be a rip off? I was just casually browsing..looking for a spare SVT in the future :p SVT or not?

Somebody threw the 15s on an SVT. Maybe they were sold/stolen/damaged in a wreck?

Yeah, could be that they had the SVT wheels, sold them and upgraded to 17's or something, then when they decided the put the car up, they sold the 17's seperately and just threw on the first cheap wheels that fit.

I didn't think the 99's had the thinner door ding strips either???
The car looks like one to skip for certain. Unless the price came down a ton!!!

Yep, it's absolutely possible that it came in without it's custom wheels. That's how I got mine. Has 15 inch 3 spoke uglies on it. Now if that ebay dude back east that I bought 4 E0 wheels from last month would just ship the other two I could go out and get some new KDWs and my car would be just about complete. Karl

Yeah, I bet that the dealer swapped the rims when they put it out to sell. Maybe someone who works at dealer bought them when the car was traded in?
I have seen late model cars with cheap non factory wheel covers on lots, even "Original" Contour SE's.

I agree, I think the wheels were just swapped. It's kinda illegal to fake a vin, atleast I think so. There's only one way to know for sure! Take a look at it! You'll know right away looking at the engine. Drive it as well
