Well chances are you won't be able to get the ticket dropped. If you were to fight it I'd push the "Rule of the Road". Basically you were keeping pace with the rest of traffic. But that probably won't get you too far.

If this is your first ticket or the first one you've had in a while you may have a couple options. Pleed guilty to the ticket and get the points put on your record and probably pay a minimal fine. I took this option my first ticket. It was reduced from $180 to $50-$60 (basically court fees).

Another option would be to take drivers school (if they offer it...talk to the clerks at the courthouse and they will know). Most systems that offer the school require you to pay the full ticket or more then what you would normally pay if it went on your record. The points don't go on your record and you have to spend a couple hours on a saturday or something at school. You don't have to show up to court if you take this option though.

Good luck!

When you send in the ticket, request that the officer be present, ask for the calibration of the radar gun. If either of the two are not present then they most likey will drop the ticket.

do a web search on speeding or try this URL=http:///www.books4you.addr.com/speeding.html]speeding ticket[/URL]
How to beat a speeding ticket

or go to the library and see what you can come up with.

If your ticket indicates an ESCORT and you do NOT own an ESCORT, that alone is grounds for dismissal.

Maybe he was supposed to chase an Escort,
that was the same color as your car,
and mistook you car for the Escort ?

If he was just sitting on the road, when you passed him,
chances are there was another Officer doing the speed monitoring,
and was radioing to him, what cars to pick off.

I would go and fight it.

I'll agree with RR here. If he marked you down as an "Escort" you should be pretty home free in court. Now, if he marks down you have a grey car when it is actually silver, that won't work. But getting the model of car wrong is a serious enough error that the judge should throw it out.
