I just finished "re-badging" mine. A little nylon fishing line, followed by some "Cleanz-EZ" I got from a body shop supply store was all it took to remove the Mercury and GS badges from the deck lid (no holes). I figured I didn't need the "Mercury" because of the "M" in the center of the taillight reflector. I replaced it with "Zetec 16V" badges from BAT, Inc. The "GS" now resides on the rear door sail panel (along with a duplicate for the other side). Just to be, you know, different. wink

All you need is a hair dryer, dental floss and some Goo-Gone and your all set, trust me wink Have someone hold the hair dryer on the emblem and work the dental floss behind it, tugging it very slowly down. When you get the emblem off finally you'll want to clean the glue/two-sided tape with the Goo-Gone or even WD40. After that you'll want to put some wax over the area to protect it. In closing if your going to use dental floss use the mint :p J/K and good luck with your mod!

Don't use a hair dryer...I tried it with that and the adhesive will leave a residue or 'burn' onto the paint. Goo Gone and some fishing line will work fine.

Not with mine....

The "contour GL" went off ok... but the "Ford" left a oval mark on my car....

I love the way it looks... but I'll probably have to stick them back on the car...

i'll try to take pictures and post them... I don't think it's going to be easy... the camera probably won't be able to focus right...
