For those who have painted there's. What materials did you use to prepare it for painting?
What type of paint did you use, and with clear coat or not?

I got it done at a body shop- $30 (cdn) 
'98 Contour LX, custom cold air K&N intake,Eibach springs, functional euro antenna, APR DTM spolier, Carbon fibre M3 Mirrors, short shifter, Custom Magnaflow dual exhaust, Unorthodox underdrive pulley, 18" Enkei RS6 & 215/40ZR/18 Yoko Parada, pioneer head unit with two 12's.. http://lowcontour.streetracing.org

I sent mine to Elky to get the chrome stripped then off to the body shop for a coat of paint. They were painting a few other things, so they just shot it at the same time for no extra charge.

I had Spatt do the muratic acid process to mine which took all the chrome plating off. This left me a dull, flat grey surface to have painted which I had done at a local body shop, along with the painted rear valance, it cost me $120.00 and it came out perfect
