I know from reading information on website after website that a SVT bumper wont fit on anything pre-98 but I am very curious as to why exactly wont it fit? I have a 97 mystique that I was kicking around the idea of trying to put an SVT front bumper cover on... until i researched it of course. Are the front dimensions of the car so different or is it just because the lights or grill are different? Any information would be GREATLY appreciated

IIRC, I don't think HPP's CF bumper will fit your Mystique. The headlights and grill on that are flat across the bottom, while HPP's bumper is shaped to the front of the Contour, with it's curvy grill opening. You may have to cut a SVT bumper and your stock bumper and have them molded together to get the look you want.
It'll cost cash, but look sweet!!

the svt bumper will bolt up to the fenders correctly but thats about as far as it goes. its too wide, sticks out too far so some material has to be extended back under the headlights and grill, the bumper has to be cut around the turn signals, then something has to be done about the "pieces" missing between the headlights and the grill.
