I am looking into getting the indiglo gauges for my 1997 SE, but I was thinking the 97 SE has white needles. Would these needles be hard to see during the day-time and what about night-time, would they be hard to see. Thanks in advance.

you can go to fordcontour.org to purchase a set of pre-98 gauges, or i think there is a list of people in the group buy section. but back to ur question, if youre taking out the gauges anyway, you could prob. just paint the needle a certain color, if its hard to see in the daytime.

The needles, if left white, can still be seen both in the day and night-time. The needle color can be changed by sanding the back side of the needle and painting it to offset it a bit more if you wish.

Just FYI, BNM is the preferred retailer for FCO\'s gauges. wink

Sorry to veer(sp) off the subject just a lil, but i was thinking about buying the svt gauges and my question is, how woud you recalibrate your speedometer to work with the svt speedometer. Becuase the svt speedometr goes to 160 and is set up differently than the regular v6 speedometer.

I have the guages and I can see the needles fine during the day... I wouldn't worry about it too much.

You can take the needles off, scrape the bottom of them (where the white paint is) and paint them whatever color your want. I have mine orange. I just used regular model paint, really, anything would work. Remember only paint the bottom.

Chris, I don't think the SVT guages will work with a 95...

What would be the cause of the svt gauges not being able to work on a 95.

The speedo on SVT gauges go up to 160, all the rest go up to 130. So the needle will be off.

I also think there is extra wiring for the 95 that is not on the 97 gauges that needs to be hooked up. At our meet they were trying to put a 97 cluster in a 95 and it didn't work. I'm assuming there would be the same problem with the SVT gauges? Any way around those extra wires?
