can i swap my no tach cluster for a svt gauge cluster? If so how hard would it be?

i think someone has done this...maybe it was LoCo. Anyways, i think he has done it but the svt tach doesnt work because it doesnt have a sending unit to power the tach.

You called? laugh Yeah when I hooked it up it didn't work. No sending wire. I hooked up a wire from the signal plug on the back of the tach to the computer. It reads ALMOST accurate. It still seems like it is 1000 rpm off but it might just need a resistor. Here is the how to: Tach solution

One question, were these cars ever equipped with a tach on the cars original cluster that you would not already have the wire lead from the factory?

Draven, I believe on 2000 Contours like Loco's the wire was decontented, but on a 1998.5 Contour like mine, I should have a tach wire when I replace my instrument panel. I think that is what you were asking.
