Oxi clean and a deep steam cleaner is all you need.

oxi clean it and use the baking soda idea. Anything you would use in a bathroom to control odor would work.

Or just take it to a detail shop, they'll fix you right up and it shouldn't cost too much.

"Febreze" works on getting rid of that wet dog smell after my Lab's been swimming. Gotta do it twice sometimes though...

thanks so much. i tried the baking soda idea and it worked pretty well. i also got the magic weapon: the homer simpson air freshener!!!
where can you get oxi clean? it still smells a little and when the windows have been up for a while it is worse.

it really sucked though. i ran out to my car, closed all the windows, sat inside and let out the longest F-bomb in the world.

on the road of life there are fast cars, and then there are hondas.

Make sure you don't use the Fabreeze near your dog. Have heard of many animals getting very sick and even dying from the use of Fabreeze. frown
SPCA (and others) claim it's safe but many people say otherwise.
Have Labs myself and have heard many of the claims from Lab owners. Many cats and birds have died and the dogs seem to get very sick.
So, if you use it in your car make sure to air it out and let it dry completely. Same goes for household use, let it dry completely and keep the animals away while spraying it.
A person I know filed a claim with Proctor and Gamble for vet bills. Her Lab got VERY sick and her bird died after she used Fabreeze on her couch. PG paid all of the bills. She's not the only one that PG paid out on either. But still they maintain that it is safe to use near pets.
Better to be safe than sorry!

Fabreeze is just a cover scent. I would steam the seats then spray the interior fabric with an odor terminator that kills the bacteria which cause the smell. Lysol has a pretty good one. Finally I would take it to a detail shop where the have a ozone machine which ionizes the air to get the smell out. That takes about 6hrs and it's not to expensive. We charge 59.95 where I work for the service.
