Anyone else notice the Mondeo lights look different than the Contour's? Not shape wise nessecarily, but texture and color wise. They're like, clear, or white or something. I removed my reflectors and still don't think I achieved the look of the Mondeo units. Am I trippin?

Part of it could be that the Mondeo pieces have their optics on the lens (MKI and MKII) were the Contour only has the lens optics on the pre-98s. The ridges in the lens will mess with the lighting and send some of it back to the viewer. Different shapes inside the lamp would also account for differences.

Notice you can't see the Mondeo's bulbs? You can on the 98+ tours.

IMHO, the contour post 98 lights look better because they are all clear on the outside.

i really like the chrome look also BTW, i can do without the amber side reflector. everyone is painting their lights flat black. if you like it, all the power to ya. but too many crappy a$$ cars are coming from the factory that way, impalla (FWD nightmare), frickin hyundais now! :rolleyes: i'm staying with chrome surrounds.

BUT, the light output and pattern of H4s are ALWAYS far superior. so i'd run with then anyday over the US 9004 crap (even though i do run with 9005s).

anyway, ExDelayed was right about the reasoning on the appearence difference.
oh, and the shapes are subtly different. search around, you can find images side-by-side.

I love the look of the Mondeo headlights. The "clear" ones on our cars is too much of a b*tch to maintain and keep scratch and gunk free.
