Can't stress enough how important waxing your rims is. Some good old paste wax and your good to go. Not just to shine 'em, but it keeps the brake dust and other dirt off as well. I used to hate washing my car and 2 days later rims were filthy again from the brake dust. Now hubcaps, that might be a different story... You can take those in everynight and throw 'em in the dishwasher if you had to....Hell, I'd try it if I had 'em laugh

I've used the Mequiars "Hot Rims" wheel cleaner and it hasn't hurt my rims one bit but it did clean the heck out of my calipers though, they have this dry, clean look to them right after I cleaner my wheels. I usually spray the calipers too, why not, there right there wink Antonio whats the deal with selling the car, are you buying a FSVT or what? You have to stay aboard with us, it wouldn't be the same w/o our Mequiars vs. Zaino debates laugh

Black Magic Wheel Polish is amazing. Its safe for clearcoats too. I did up my wheels with it this spring, and coated them afterwards with two coats of wax. Easy to clean now.

The polish is basically a very fine abrasive in a liquid suspension. I had no problems whatsoever with my clearcoat after using it. I'd say it took me about 2 hours to do up my 16" Cougar wheels. They were quite dirty. I'm going to do them again soon, just for that fresh look.

The SA at the stealership here asked me what I did to those rims to make them look so good.

I've used the Turtle Wax Tire Wax for a while. Only issue is once you use it, you can't stop. The tires will collect dirt like a fother muck after an application, and they're impossible to get clean afterwards. Only thing that works is cleaning them as well as you can and then applying a fresh coat of Tire Wax.

I will agree, I sprayed some on the volvo's rims (they are pitted anyway so I wasn't concerned about any harshness) and they took a lot right off!

Every time I come online I wonder if the forums will be up
