i've got a couple paint "issues" on my black SE, i was wondering wether you guys thought that trying to fix them on my own would only make things worse? i dont have any painting experience at all. for starters, i have a cm diameter hole in my paint on the hood, it goes down to the metal, as far as i can tell, its kind of an off white. i have a long ass scratch on the front passenger fender - about 8" long, 1/2 tall, down to the white, again. also, i have lots of dings and stuff on my sideskirts. anyway, what do you guys think? are those touchup-able, or am i just gonna make things worse? and if they are touchup-able, anyone got a howto on how to do it? oh, and what paint color should i use? thanks guys.

well it sounds like it's down to the primer, which means its a pretty deep scratch. yes u could touch it up, but theres going to be a really big "pit" there. btw, as for which paint, the paint code is on the drivers side door jam. should be a 2 letter code.

Take a look at:

You'll find some good "how-to" advice on making chip and scratch paint repair.

SOUNDS LIKE YOUR OFF THE THE LOCAL SHOP. THE HOOD COULD ME BRUSHED AND THEN BUFFED. BUT THE SCRATCH? IF YOU CAN FEEL IT W/ YOUR FINGERNAIL CHANCES ARE YOU WILL BE ABLE TO SEE A FIX. PAINTING MAY BE IN ORDER.
