As luck would have it, I got stuck in a hailstorm in April in Pennsylvania that apparently (according to my bodyshop) caused a rollicking $6034 in damage to my defenseless 98 SE. After talking to the shop owner (a friend of mine), he said that since they will have to paint almost the whole friggin car, I may want to think about a color change. The car is now Dark Green Satin metallic, a sorta "dead" dark green, at least to me. I was wondering what you guys would do if you didn't like the color of your car, and had the oppurtunity to have your insurance company change the color for you, no charge. And I'm not stuck on strictly factory colors, so use your imagination, although purple and yellow are both out of the question. Thanks for the input.

I'd do maybe some sort of blue with an ice pearl. Maybe silver frost with blue pearl. Maybe straight up Audi TT silver. Mercedes triple black. If it were me, I'd think long and hard about it and check out as many colors as possible. I once owned a Medium Willow Green Ranger. That color is hard to beat after a good detail. Tropic green is pretty tough also. Is your insurance company paying for this I hope. My car got hit pretty hard with hail the other day. I might have to make a claim myself.

If you have tan interior I'd go with that orange thats on the Focus, which is kinda like the orange that was on the pacecar for the Detroit grand prix a couple years ago Also the new Sonic Blue thats on the FSVT is another option, how are those ideas?

If you have a tan interior I would suggest that white pearl metallic used by Infinity, Jag, and some of the other high-class cars. Or maybe Ford's Sun-Ray gold used on the ZX2. What a break!

Oops! Didn't mean to infer that the Contiques aren't high-class! We all know they are!

I haven't seen that orange on the Focus yet-I will have to check into that. Plus, I like JWard's idea of the Sun Ray Gold-eye catching, to say the least. Thanks for the ideas so far guys. I haven't heard back for the insurance people yet, but I'm sure they'll come back pretty soon with a "How much???" look on their face.

I like the idea of Mercedes Triple Black...your car is already half way to that color. David Z and Mystic SVT both blue Contours that are very nice looking.
