I need to get my front bumper re-painted - it's covered with pits and chips. What should I be looking at spending for this? Would it be worth doing the prep work myself?

sand it with some 600 grit wet sand paper. or it its really bad, go with a lower grit to really get out the imperfections and work your way up to 600 grit.

just like he said, because thhose chips are a ***** to get out, so start with like 100 grit or 200 grit and work your way up. untill smooth. just do it enought to get the chips out,

Yeah, it's pretty bad. Looks like the last owner (or the dealer he traded it in at) just sprayed a coat over the chips, so now I have two layers to deal with. Anyone know what a paint shop will charge for the painting?
