Yes I followed the How-To, but I am replacing the inserts with the carbon fiber ones I got from Street concepts and would like the easiest way to get the old insert out and out the new one in without messing up and doing something wrong...I have them off my car just need to take the one insert out and put the carbon ones in its place. I hope I am not missing some stupid thing that just makes it pop out, lol

I tried pulling it apart once but seems like the panel in there that says contour is on pretty securly so figured I would asked before i mess anything up.

Thanks in advance

Louis

Trash it. Plain and simple.

You can try all you want to save the "Contour" piece but unless you have some major patience, its coming out in many pieces.

If you heat it up, the adhesive will relax a bit. It will still be a pain to get out though. Be sure to clean it with some alcohol after you get all the old adhesive off so the new tape will stick better.

As long as you don't scratch the outer black piece, it doesn't matter too much as the new carbon insert will cover anything up.

Thanks...Does alcohol remove all of the adhesive ? or is there a better thing to use ?

Also, What would be the best adhesive to use when installing the carbon fiber ones ?

I thought they were held on by a screw from the inside. confused At least that's how mine are on there. Maybe they changed that when they changed the body style...

They are held on the car by 2 or 3 screws, but to get the actual inner piece out, you have to "pry" it out.

Scrape what you can off of it, then wipe it down with alcohol to get all the residue and little pieces off.
