This may sound like a silly question, but every time that I wash my car I can never completely remove the black buildup on my exhaust tips. Is there any special method of removing this crap, or am I just going to have to live with it?

Jacob 1999 Tropic Green SVT I just use some towels and hot water to remove most of the carbon build up and then use Mother's stainless steel cleaner (available at Wal-Mart) to remove the rest and make it shine.

Use a brillo pad to clean carbon build up on your tips.

simple green works for me, but don't let it sit for long, and rinse them afterwards, otherwise you won't have any tips left to clean :p

Mother's stainless steel cleaner is just awesome, been using it since I saw a REALLY shiny exhaust pipe at a CEG meet, and asked him what he used.. Have had no regrets, and my tips have never looked better.

I may be wrong but the Sunoco 110 is leaded I know in some states Sunoco has 100 unleaded race fuel, we do As far as the tips go, I always spray them with wheel cleaner when I wash my car, just make it a habit and "forget about it"

Just be careful where you stick your tip, that`s all. I use a chrome polisher I get from work and it is awesome.
