I noticed last summer (and it is worse now) that my headlamps were looking a bit, well kinda cloudy from all of the rocks and stuff from the road hitting them mad , and I want to get them back to their original clarity, but I don't want to by all new headlights for this small prob. I have heard about Mother's making a clear plasitc wax (saw that on speedvision), but I can't find it anywhere in the area, so what do you all think I should do? confused

Please dont anyone say ( TRY THE SEARCH )before you post a question that has been asked 1000 times. Not everyone knows that. You post whores...

Ok wet sand the lamps with 800 grit until all traces of film are removed. Then finish it off with a 1000 to 1200 grit paper. and unless you have a buffer you will need to compound then polish.

Warning.. be prepared to use AOLT of elbow grease. Unless laugh you have a DA with 800 & 1200 grit paper and a buffer like i do.
Good luck it is alot of work but man is it worth it...........

I was lucky. I suckered my buddy Alan in to helping me do it with his orbital sander.

Man that guy is a maroon laugh

Just kidding. Alan and Extreme LX are the same guy and he did my lights for me and they turned out awesome.

It is a lot of work but can be done in a couple of hours.

I thought so much of his work, I put it in my sig. Check it out.

Hey Chuck the 1st part of mu reply was not directed to you. Alot of old timers around here just get tired or repaating the same replys and in doing so seem to come off quite rude in thier replys.
Anyway compound is more comonly known as rubbing compound. Good luck. Hell just ship them to me and ill black them out for you and buff them too.

Uhh thanks Redhawk, I think LMAO !!!!

My head lamps are not cloudy - but do have rock chips in them.
They feel rough when you run your had across them.
Is there a way to the chips out as well?
