Popular opinion here is that the hood liner keeps the engine bay too warm.

My car did not come with one (Darn Decontenting) so it is not "needed" per se.

FWIW, I think JCWhitney sells stuff like that.

If you really want one, it's made by Dynamat and you can get one at any car audio shop........

Hoodliner = bad if you're using a non-stock intake system!

Mine came without one (or someone already removed it). I haven't had any issues with the engine being too cold. The only real reason I could see having it would be to cut down on engine noise. If that is the case, like Superperk said, Dynamat makes some. Make sure you tell them that you are using it as a hood liner so they will sell you the correct matting. There is one that is lined, like the pic to insulate slightly.

I never had one on my car(must of came as an option  ) Since my car is probably one of the closest to base on here. But the car runs cooler than most. Even though zetec gauges are all different.

I just wanted to protect the paint on my hood from too much heat comeing from the engine. I will take it off today maybe it's not too loud if it is I going to put it back on until it falls off.

I am thinking of getting a hoodliner too.
I probably will go with Cascade instead of Dynamate.
