Have any of you been able to install a light in the knob that indicates whether your lights are on or not? I know the surrounding lights up, but it would be easier to see if the actual knob were visible. I took the switch off, but I didn't quite know how to get it apart to see if there was a place to put a light. Any ideas?

Why not mount an indicator light somewhere else? I don't think that you will be able to mount one in there. You can mount a led in the dash or in the vents that is on when the lights are on.

Actually, I have done this. At Spring Zing 00 I noticed in Todd R. car that the part you turn actually lit up. I found that all 95-97 Contours had this feature. I went to the local salvage and got a headlight switch out of a 95 se. I had to run a jumper wire in the switch to get it to light though.
Good luck, One of my favorite aesthetic mods yet.
