Hey I have come to terms that my Tour will not be fast untill Terry finishes his turbo kits so I have decided to concentrate most of my efforts on the showy side of things for now. So what are your guys serious suggestions on making my Tour show quality? I can do a lot of the work my self so fire away. I want to do everthing from the exterior, interior, engine bay and maybe even the undercarrige. So what do you guys think will turn my car into a show winner? By the way it is a 2000 SE T-Red Zetec ATX.
2000 Ford Contour SE 2.0L Zetec ATX Removed Air Silencer Added Side MArkers Removed Door Ding Guards ----------------------------------- 2001 Ford Mustang 3.8L EFI AODE Nothing Yet......... ----------------------------------- 1989 Plymouth Sundance 2.5L A/T A whole slew of aftermarket stuff but mainly engine work. The list is really long so I decided to save us some bandwidth by taking it out! ----------------------------------- 1987 Subaru XT GL10 AWD Turbo Removed half the interior in my never ending quest to find the fuel pump relay so I can fix it!!!!

it doesnt need a flashy paint job...
nice wheels, dont have to be 19" either...17" will do the trick, drop it, dont slam it...
de badge the bad boy, take the door ding strips off...make sure the stock paint job is really clean and waxed up...
strobes are good to draw attention...
bangnin system...
clean engine bay, maybe dvd/ps2 system...
anything that is extra...
go to town...

Obviously you don't do the show circuit, contourgl_96, because all of your advice sucks.
Beyond's got the right idea.. Add some ricey stickers, a touring wing, and maybe even some neons (with mirrors at the shows for the full effect).

As far as paint goes, House of Kolor custom mixes a Kameleon Paint scheme called Tequilla sunrise, that I have always wanted to put on my tour. It changes from Burnt Orange to yelllow to gold to white. 4 Clolors in all i think. Silver Clearcoat 19 3piece rims, Titanium window tint to match the rims, and a one-off body kit and you'll be off to a good start.

If you get a custom body kit and a nice paint job I bet you will turn some heads, just cause noone makes kits for the tour....

you guys are all hipocrits... you say how much you hate ricey stickers...huge wings...etc... now you tell this guy to go out and do... and quite frankly i am more into the show circuit then you will ever know officercartman... as far as my experience with i have been going to and seeing cars on the "show circuit" consistantly for hte last 6 years...i have been a judge numerous times... sounds like a great plan to me...go out spend a few thousand on a paint job then throw stickers and vinal all over it...thats great advise... judges at carshows dont always think the more the better... guess its all in opinion though, cause i think your advise sucks too...

Your local car shows don't mean crap to me.. We're talking about real shows, on a national circuit. Your car won't get a second glance w/o that crap.. Granted, we as a group might not like it, but that's what it takes to place at these things. Antonio entered his car in a big show last year.. And he didn't even get any recognition, because he had no ricey wing or goofy stickers.. But he had a clean, dropped, 18" rimmed, big Baer braked car.. One of the finest on the CEG! Hmmm, he should have won according to your judging expertise! So why did the Honda Civic with all the stickers get props and he got none?
